My name is Lucinda Shan Smith, and I’m grandmother to five gorgeous grandchildren, mother to four wonderful children, and wife to one lovely husband. (Oh! and Rosie, the chocolate Labrador, is there in that mix, too)

We have lived in Brighton for 5 years and are currently relocating to Preston in Lancashire, where we will support our daughter and son in law who are leaders of a new HTB plant in the city.

Prior to Brighton, we had a brief stint in Birmingham where God was finally able to get my attention and so a season of restoration and healing for my heart finally began. By that time, we had already lived in West Yorkshire where, in 1998, we set up home on our return from the mission field in Pakistan. With the help of a number of other women, I established a drop-in centre in Keighley, where we sought to offer compassion and care to single mums, and others, feeling marginalised and isolated.

More recently, over the past few years, I have been mentoring young women, journeying alongside them, as they navigate life with Jesus.  I have also trained up an inner healing team at our church and on a one-to-one basis, through prayer, we have had the privilege of seeing God bring freedom to His broken and hurting people, restoring hope and life and possibility.

I have loved speaking at various events on the subject of IDENTITY, which I believe is the key to lasting freedom, and which is the message I carry in the core of my being, having fought hard for it for myself, over many years!

‘It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery’ Galatians, 5 v 1.
